New Delhi, Aug 25: Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has called on the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) to accelerate efforts to take India-developed telecommunications technologies to international markets.
The Minister emphasised the need to strengthen India’s position as a global technology developer and move beyond being a major consumer of telecom products. He highlighted the importance of developing and commercialising indigenous technologies in emerging areas such as 6G, artificial intelligence, quantum technology and cybersecurity.
Scindia urged C-DOT to focus on converting its research and innovations into globally competitive products and solutions. Greater collaboration between government institutions, industry, startups and technology developers could help expand the reach of Indian telecom technologies worldwide.
The push is also aimed at strengthening the ‘Made in India’ brand in the global telecommunications sector. Indigenous technologies, stronger research capabilities and international partnerships can play an important role in building India’s technology ecosystem and reducing dependence on imported solutions.
With the global telecom industry preparing for the next generation of connectivity, India is seeking a stronger role in shaping emerging technology standards and developing solutions for future networks.
The focus on 6G, AI, quantum technologies and cybersecurity is expected to create new opportunities for Indian technology companies and research institutions, while supporting the country’s broader ambition to become a global technology and innovation hub.
